The 2025 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim aim to be the most sustainable event in Nordic sports history. By embedding sustainability in every aspect of planning and execution, Trondheim 2025 is setting a new standard for environmentally responsible and socially inclusive sporting events.
Trondheim has long been a hub for innovation and sustainability. It was among Norway’s first cities to implement smart city initiatives, integrating AI-driven traffic management, 5G technology, and sustainable urban planning. Trøndelag is also leading Norway’s transition to clean energy, while local companies and research institutions drive advancements in marine technology, offshore energy, and sustainable aquaculture.
The dynamic synergy between innovation and sustainability in our local ecosystem fuels companies like OceanTech. Industry leaders such as Equinor are at the forefront of the energy transition, driving advancements in sustainable solutions. The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) cultivates the next generation of problem-solvers, ensuring a continuous pipeline of talent and fresh ideas. Meanwhile, Vitensenteret ignites curiosity in young minds, fostering an early passion for science and technology.
Together, we push the boundaries of innovation, seeking smarter, greener solutions—because we are all moving forward on the same track.
We are excited to be part of a true folkefest in Trondheim! Join us as we celebrate alongside the local community, embracing innovation, sustainability, and shared progress. See you along the course!
