Who we are

OceanTech is an experienced service provider for offshore installation operators, specialising in safety-critical services and maintenance in the challenging splash zone. Our remotely operated robotic solutions perform splash zone operations beyond the capabilities of divers and ROVs. Leveraging field-proven technology alongside advanced rope access and lifting methods, we simplify these operations by reducing costs, enhancing safety, and minimising environmental impact.

We are headquartered in Trondheim, Norway, close to the leading research environments at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and SINTEF.

OceanTech is owned by Frøy Kapital AS (66%), Hagib AS (8,5%), Ohr Invest AS (8,5%), Schjetne Invest AS (8,5%) and Wavezone AS (8,5%).

Our story

OceanTech was established in 2017 following a management buyout of the splash zone department from Linjebygg Offshore. Since then, the company has steadily grown from a small to a medium-sized enterprise, consistently maintaining strong operations and a proven record of innovation in splash zone projects.

Our culture of safe operations is rooted in a nearly 100-year-old tradition of rigging, lifting, and handling operations developed by Linjebygg. Today, we have completed over 70 projects across 50 different installations globally, achieving 200,000 offshore work hours with no unwanted incidents.

Our people

Our team, and our global team of subcontractors, possess extensive and diverse experience from major engineering firms that have played a pivotal role in developing the offshore oil and gas industry in the North Sea and other oceanic regions.

We have nearly 20 years of experience in planning and executing demanding splash zone projects. Dedicated to innovation, we continually seek to attract top talent in design engineering and 3D modeling, project management, engineering analysis, and complex rigging and lifting operations.
