OceanTech entered into a major contract with Equinor!

OceanTech Innovation AS entered into a contract with Equinor in the end of 2019. The planning, preparations and testing has been ongoing since then and the project has just mobilized offshore. The offshore work will continue through summer 2020, and is a major maintenance task in the Splash Zone at one of Equinor’s older platforms.

Testing of Splash Zone equipment in DORA II, Trondheim

The SOW require advanced remotely operated tools which can withstand the forces from the waves. OceanTech project manager Kristian Ohr explains that the testing in the subsea test centre is essential to be able to perform such advanced and diverless tasks. The solutions have been tested in full scale, and several new toolings are designed and built. This will be one of the most challenging remotely operated projects in OceanTech history.

OceanTech Innovation AS was established in 2017 and the company is located at Nyhavna in Trondheim. OceanTech has more than ten years of experience (former Linjebygg) with specialized horizontal and vertical access tools for work in the splash-zone on oil platforms. With their 5000 m2 space including Dora 2, they have the possibility to make full scale tests, also under water, of access tools, robotization equipment and software.
